LSK Suffers Defeat Against Club NXTWedstrijd - Verslag07 febLommel SK has again failed to secure any points in their fourth match of 2025. The team, led by interim head coach Ryan Garry, pushed hard for an equaliser but ultimately suffered the proverbial setback at a crucial moment. Interim head coach Ryan Garry made one change to his starting line-up for the match against Club NXT. Diego Rosa returned after a short absence, replacing Djaier Prijor. Nicolás Siri was included in the match squad for the first time, with the Uruguayan striker starting on the bench. Dries Wouters once again captained the Lommel side.
LSK started the match cautiously, allowing the visitors plenty of possession. Club NXT created the first real chance of the game with a long-range effort that swerved towards the Lommel goal, but goalkeeper Nikola Ivezic managed to tip it over the crossbar. Even after this early warning shot, Club NXT remained the better side. After around twenty minutes, Ivezic was called into action once again, producing an impressive reflex save on the goal line to deny the opening goal.
Shortly after this major chance, Groen-Wit had their first opportunity at the Bruges goal. A superb cross from Alvaro Santos was met by Jason van Duiven, but the Dutchman's header went wide of the target. Following Van Duiven's effort, LSK began to grow into the game, but after around 27 minutes, Club NXT was awarded a golden opportunity to take the lead. Their left winger slipped past Yvann Titi, who then committed a foul according to referee Arthur Denil. The penalty was awarded, and captain Lynnt Audoor made no mistake from the spot: 0-1.
Immediately after the goal, Ryan Garry made his first substitution. Kluiverth Aguilar came on to replace captain Dries Wouters, who had to leave the pitch due to injury. Joey Pelupessy took over the captain's armband. Just before half-time, LSK came close to an equaliser. Mohamed Salah found himself in space on the left flank and fired a shot at goal from a tight angle. His effort, however, went wide. That proved to be the last real chance of the first half, and the teams went into the break with Club NXT leading 0-1.

More pressure
LSK emerged from the dressing room unchanged and immediately had an opportunity to trouble the visitors. Yvann Titi broke into the penalty area and was taken down hard by goalkeeper De Corte. The Soevereinstadion erupted in appeals for a penalty, but referee Denil awarded only a corner.
A few minutes later, Mohamed Salah came close to levelling the score. A cross from Alvaro Santos seemed to be ignored by everyone, but our left winger remained alert. Salah got ahead of his marker and directed the ball towards goal, but goalkeeper De Corte was equally sharp and managed to save the effort. Following a lengthy injury treatment for players on both sides, LSK pressed on. Jason van Duiven then had a chance to make it 1-1. A cross from Kluiverth Aguilar found the Dutchman, but his header lacked the power to trouble the keeper.
After an hour of play, Ryan Garry made his second substitution, handing Nicolás Siri his debut for Groen-Wit. The Uruguayan replaced Alvaro Santos. Siri made an immediate impact and had a chance to score within minutes. A brilliant cross was met by Siri, but his header failed to hit the target.
Setback at the worst moment With fifteen minutes to go, Ryan Garry was forced to make his third and final change. Yvann Titi could not continue and was replaced by Yeboah Amankwah. LSK kept pressing and created yet another major chance. This time, Siri battled past his defender and set up Salah perfectly. The former Club NXT player unleashed a shot, but it was desperately blocked at the last moment.
Ironically, it was in this strong part of the game that LSK suffered the decisive blow. With just twelve minutes remaining, the visitors broke through down Lommel SK's left side. Tobias Lund Jensen found himself one-on-one with Ivezic and calmly slotted the ball past the Lommel goalkeeper: 0-2.
Club NXT did everything in their power to kill the game. Frequent stoppages disrupted the flow, leaving Lommel SK unable to mount a comeback. As a result, the fourth match of 2025 also ended in defeat.
