Sam de Grand returns to Lommel SK on loanMen03 sepLommel SK are delighted to welcome Sam de Grand back to the Gestelsedijk. The 21-year-old Dutchman joined AZ earlier this summer but now returns to Lee Johnson's squad on a season-long loan. Sam de Grand will once again wear the colours of Groen-Wit this season. Lommel SK and AZ Alkmaar have reached an agreement on a loan deal for the 21-year-old defender, who returns to the Gestelsedijk just a few months after completing a permanent move to the Dutch club.
De Grand spent the past four seasons at Lommel SK and was one of the team's standout performers last season. He finished the campaign with ten assists and three goals, while also earning his first call-up and debut for the Netherlands Under-21 national team.
Sporting Director Jeffrey van As is delighted to welcome De Grand back to Lommel SK: "When you get the opportunity to bring back a player like Sam, you don't hesitate. His chances of regular playing time at AZ turned out to be more limited than expected, which gave us the opportunity to bring him back. Everyone knows how important Sam was to us last season, and he fits our style of play perfectly. We are looking forward to seeing him back in action in the Jupiler Pro League."
Sam de Grand is equally pleased to return to Groen-Wit: "Lommel feels like coming home. I really enjoyed my time here over the past few years, so I'm delighted to be back. Quite a few things have changed within the squad, but it immediately feels familiar again. I can't wait to get started once more."OnderwerpenSam de GrandDelen op
