Robin Henkens has signed a new two-year contract with Lommel SK. The 37-year-old assistant coach will therefore remain part of Lee Johnson’s coaching staff. Henkens returned to North Limburg in the summer of 2025 after spending a season as assistant coach at Dutch second-division side Roda JC Kerkrade. During his playing career, Henkens made no fewer than 248 appearances for the Green and White, placing him fifth on the club’s all-time appearance list.
“This is my club and I’m incredibly proud to continue in this role over the coming years,” said Robin Henkens. “I learned a great deal during the past season, and I enjoy working every day with both young and experienced players to build something special. The club is finally back in the top flight and I’m delighted to continue contributing to that journey.”
Sporting Director Jeffrey van As also reacted to the contract extension: “We are very pleased with the performances and development of our entire technical staff. Robin is an important part of that and is a key figure for the players both on and off the pitch. We believe we have an excellent assistant coach in Robin, someone who can continue to grow together with the club in the coming years.”
