John Montaño will return to his old club, Independiente Medellín, with immediate effect. Lommel SK will rent out the 19-year-old attacker to the Colombian top club until the end of this calendar year. It is a return for Montaño to the club where he played in the youth academy and where he played fourteen times for the first team. Montaño has also played fourteen official matches for Lommel SK to date.
Sporting Director Jeffrey van As explains the choice: "A year ago, John came to Lommel to take his first steps in European football. Given his young age, we believe that at this time it is better to let him temporarily return to an environment that is familiar to him, with people he already knows. In this way, he can develop himself better and make steps as a footballer. We will follow his development with interest."
