Rik Vercauteren arrived at the Soevereinstadion in the summer of 2024. The 24-year-old joined from RSC Anderlecht, where he had played in the youth system since 2016. Prior to his time in Brussels, the Bever-born goalkeeper came through the youth ranks of Waasland-Beveren. In the past season, Vercauteren featured twice for Lommel SK and made eight appearances for Jong Lommel.
Vercauteren is pleased to remain at Lommel SK in the coming years: “The club has helped me enormously to become a better goalkeeper. This renewed contract really feels like a reward for all the hard work. I’m looking forward to the new season and hope we can create many beautiful moments together!”
“Rik has developed very well over the past period,” said Sporting Director Jeffrey van As. “It was therefore a logical step for us to offer him a new contract. We have full confidence that Rik will continue to progress and compete with our other goalkeepers in the time ahead.”
