The young Brazilian came to Lommel for the first time in the winter of 2021. On loan from Manchester City, Rosa spent a year and a half at Gestelsedijk. He scored his first goal in a 3-0 home victory against Excelsior Moeskroen. After this successful spell, Rosa moved to Portugal before returning to his homeland to join EC Bahia.
Last season, Rosa rejoined Lommel SK on loan from EC Bahia. This season, he once again had the opportunity to showcase his talents at de Gestelsedijk, but that spell has now come to an end. Rosa will return to Brazil with immediate effect.
James McCarron, Lommel SK’s sporting director, explained the decision: “Diego has played an important role in our club’s success over the past few years. This season, we had envisioned a key role for Diego, but things haven’t gone quite as expected.”
“For both parties, the best option at this moment is to terminate the current loan agreement. This allows Diego to return to his home country without any issues, while we can focus on the crucial weeks ahead.”
Lommel SK thanks Diego Rosa for all his efforts for the club and wishes him the best of luck in the next chapter of his career!
