During the winter transfer window of 2022, Lommel SK signed Zalán Vancsa from MTK Budapest. The Hungarian winger finished the 2021/2022 season at MTK before joining LSK in the summer of 2022.

Vancsa made a huge impression and developed into one of LSK’s key players during the outstanding 2023/2024 season. This earned him a loan move to top club KAA Gent. To further stimulate his development, Lommel SK is now sending the Hungarian to Roda JC Kerkrade.

Lommel SK’s sporting director, James McCarron, explained the decision: “We had all hoped that Zalán’s move to KAA Gent would be a success, but sometimes things don’t go as expected. At Roda JC, he will now have the opportunity to continue his development in a strong league and at a club competing for promotion to the Eredivisie. We have full confidence in his talent and look forward to seeing him grow in this next step.”
