Nicolas Siri is known in Uruguay as a big talent. The 20-year-old striker was acquired by Montevideo City Torque, one of our sister clubs within the City Football Group, in 2021. With Montevideo City Torque, Siri secured promotion to the highest level in his homeland last season. But his biggest achievement was with the Uruguay U20 national team. In 2023, Siri participated with his country in the World Championship for U20 teams. He managed to reach the final with Uruguay, beating Italy U20, to be crowned World Champion!
In Montevideo City Torque's promotion year, Siri emerged as a trendsetter. The striker managed to score 11 goals in 29 games. Something that immediately appealed to James McCarron, Sporting Director of Lommel SK: “This transfer period we have been actively looking for reinforcements for our attacking line. Nicolas fits the profile we made perfectly.”
“Nicolas is a very talented striker who knows what it takes to perform at a high level. Coming from Montevideo City Torque, he knows the vision that CFG clubs have and has experience fighting for promotion. That valuable experience, at such a young age, is something we can put to good use.”
Siri himself is also happy to be in Lommel: “2023 and 2024 were great years for me, with the world title and promotion with Montevideo City Torque. Now I want to repeat that at Lommel SK. I know the club well from the CFG family and so I can't wait to play here as well. I am extremely looking forward to playing in Europe and can't wait to be on the pitch at the Soevereinstadion for the first time!”
