Sam De Grand extends his contract at Lommel SKMen07 mayDutch defender Sam De Grand has just extended his contract at Lommel SK. The 19-year-old winger came over from Jong Genk in January 2023. Sam immediately impressed at green and white and quickly secured a starting place. This season, Sam became one of the team's absolute star players. With his commitment, running ability and football-technical qualities, Sam is also well-liked by the supporters. Sam has already made 32 appearances for Lommel SK so far. In those, he managed to score once and provided eight assists. The club has now succeeded in committing Sam to our club for longer. Sam will sign a new contract until the summer of 2028.
Performance director James McCarron is delighted: "We are delighted to be able to agree a contract extension with Sam. Throughout the season Sam has clearly demonstrated his high potential with many positive performances and shown behind the scenes a determination to get better and believe in his ability to do so. We are excited to see Sam continue to grow and develop into the high potential player we all believe he can be."
Sam himself sees this as rewarding and is determined to continue working hard within the club: "I am very grateful to be associated with this club for longer. I have worked hard over the past 2 seasons to help the team move forward and I am therefore very happy that I will still be able to do so in the coming seasons. The club made me feel at home from moment one and the supporters embraced me as if I had been here for years. Together with them, I would like to pursue the ambitions of this club and continue to develop myself."
Sam, the entire club is immensely proud that we can admire you at the Sovereign Stadium for longer.
